"I am married with two teenage daughters. While they were growing up,I had no energy to keep up with them. Their lives were passing me by and I have missed out on a lot of time with them. I was always out of breath and it was difficult to do even basic everyday activities with them. I had been overweight all my life and was 10 lbs. at birth. At my heaviest weight of 288 lbs., I had open gastric bypass surgery in September of 2003. I have lost 115 lbs. so far and am down to a beautiful 173 lbs. I couldn't be happier! I now have a better relationship with my husband because I feel better about myself and have more confidence in the way I look. My favorite hobby now is clothes shopping. I never realized clothes came in other colors besides black! I gave all my stretch pants away and I am so excited just to wear jeans everyday. It is the weirdest feeling to be able to fit into some of my daughter's clothes. I never realized how all the simple things in life could make you so happy.
