Blythe's Testimonial
"I was scared that I would die in a year," remembers Blythe Cooneyland. She weighed 361 lbs. when she was only 27 years old. "I thought about how I could have let myself get this way."
In August, 2001, she decided to have gastric bypass surgery at LivLite in Los Angeles, California. A year later, Blythe was down to just below 150 lbs., having lost over 210 lbs. A long haul truck driver based in Washington, Blythe couldn't move easily. "I was out of breath all the time," she says. "Climbing up into my truck would wind me." She'd tried numerous diet programs, all to no avail. Blythe chose the LivLite program because of its people and program. "They were responsive to my inquiries," she recalls. More importantly, she was treated with sensitivity. "Most people dismiss you when you're obese, You can feel it." She went back to work three weeks after surgery, sooner than usually recommended. "This works for the people who make it work," Blythe insists. "It's wonderful that other people see me now the way my husband and parents always did."
